The property is located on the south side of the mountain with tall pine trees and a running stream that crosses the property. Great location for a basecamp for all your recreational adventures. There is an A-frame shelter on the property. It is not intended and the seller makes no claim that the shelter can be used for full-time residential use. There is no well, septic, or electricity in the shelter but there is a nice wood-burning stove to keep you warm & heat up your coffee. This 20-acre slice of heaven borders National Forest & Public Land on 3 sides. Buckeye Lake is in the neighborhood as well as Sangree's Hut which is one of the 10th Mountain Division Hut Association cabins. Endless possibilities for summer and winter recreations. **You can not drive to the property. It will require about a 3/4 mile hike to get to the property and will take an average of 30-45 minutes. The hike is easy to moderate depending on your physical condition. Some elevation gain over a short distance classified as moderate. Most of the trail is well marked & easy to navigate in the summer. The winter months will require snowshoes or cross country skis. Seasonal road the last mile of the jeep trail to the National Forest gate. Any motorized access after the gate would require a Special Use Permit from the National Forest.
