Property Description
IT'S 38 ACRES OF TRANQUILITY atop a Southern Colorado mesa; a place where the wild horses still roam free! This is an off the grid home ready for you to realize your mountain living dreams.
Two Rinnai propane wall heaters and the kitchen wood burner ensure those winter mountain nights will be spent warm and cozy. (There is old wood on property that can be harvested for that very purpose.) Of course, the blown in R13 attic insulation plays a role in that comfort as well. The walls are 6" thick allowing for not only the sense of comfort in a secure home, but for deeper window wells too.
The appliances stay, including the new energy star refrigerator. A Rinnai tankless hot water unit not only saves space, but it saves the wasted propane of the large standard water heaters.
There is an oversized 1500 gallon septic tank and the water is hauled in from the community center, where it gravity feeds in to the 1000 gallon cistern. The home is run on solar power and includes batteries and a backup-in place Koehler generator.
As this area is somewhat down in the canyon, the roads can be tough in inclement weather. If the buyer chooses to live here full time, they will need to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle for those times.
This home is truly a hummingbird haven. If you feed them, they will come and in numbers! The front porch is the perfect place to have a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up over the mountains. This range is famous for its ability to often turn pink when the sun sets in the west, so maybe another beverage of choice would work at that time of day.
This one is a must see to understand the sense of peace this place instills.
